Most people have already heard the news, but in case anyone hasn’t heard yet…I officially have a job again! Yesterday afternoon I went to headquarters and signed all the paperwork for my new Software Engineer position at US Airways (soon to be American Airlines). My start date will depend on how long it takes to get my background check processed, but it’ll be sometime around the 1st of the year.
I greatly appreciate all the prayers and encouragement that I’ve been getting from everyone. All of the texts, emails, phone calls, etc that I’ve gotten and the people checking up on me have meant a lot to me. Thank you to everyone who did so. There have been some hard hitting things that have happened this month, and I’m immensely thankful to have the job dilemma wrapped up.
I’m planning to enjoy my last couple of weeks of freedom by relaxing, and hopefully knocking off a few more projects from my to-do list. January and February are slated to be especially crazy months for me, and starting a new job wasn’t something I had planned to have in the mix. Last weekend I took the opportunity to take a quick getaway to Portland before all the craziness that is coming my way begins.
It was an awesome trip, and I had a lot of awesome food at places like the one above, so I’ll most likely do a post about it in the near future. But for now…Merry Christmas!
PS: To answer the question that everyone has been asking; yes, I will have flight privileges!
